The Location
The race HQ is located in the University Parks in central Oxford and your best access is via the gate opposite Keble Road. Oxford Station is about one mile to the west. Those travelling by car should note that there are no car parks in the vicinity although there are a number of municipal parks within an 8 minutes walk.
Parking in the immediate area is very limited and much time can be wasted in trying to secure road parking close to the Start - especially as there are a number of road closures and areas of temporary "No Parking" for the race. Please be warned that some cars received parking tickets last year, much to the annoyance of their owners. Overall there is no problem but please
- try to share cars if possible
- allow a little more time than usual
- think seriously of using the car parks and walking in
- think about using the excellent "Park & Ride" system - but if you do this, allow plenty of time. A number of people didn't make it in time for the start last year.
'No Go' Areas
The event is only possible due to the generous co-operation of University and within the Parks, certain areas e.g. the Cricket Ground, Championship Rugby Pitch, will be clearly taped-off. Please do not cause us difficulties by entering these areas. Equally, please place all litter in the bins provided. The Park has to be left litter-free. Please help us to achieve this by using the skips provided.Many thanks for your co-operation.
Changing Rooms
Being located in a park means we have to create a "tent city" so facilities are more limited. There will be marquees for both men's and women's changing . . . . but if you can arrive changed it would help ease congestion as we expect up to 4000 runners.
There will be a (supervised) clothes storage area although everything left there will be at the owners risk and must be tagged with the owners running number prior to deposit. Tags will be provided and bags etc. must be tagged.
